My Journey to Getting Back in Shape: Take #1 Daily Burn

Are you in a workout rut? Do you want to re-vamp your fitness routine but just don’t know where to start? Fear no more- I’m trying out different workouts so you don’t have to! So here’s my plan: I’m going to try a different workout routine every month until I find something I can commit to. This series, which I’m calling ‘My journey to getting back in shape,’ will give you front-row access to my personal experiment. I promise to always be truthful—about the good, the bad, and the ugly!

Here’s a little background on my fitness habits. Thankfully, I’ve never struggled with weight, but I’ve definitely gone through unhealthy stages in my life. I try my best to eat well and live a healthy lifestyle, but there is always room for improvement! At the end of the day, I want a solid fitness routine that I can stick to—and enjoy. It’s easier to be my healthiest self when I actually like what I’m doing!

I cannot rationalize splurging on a gym membership for upwards of $100 a month. Who says you can’t get a great workout without breaking the bank? Also, I’m a busy lady; I feel like a real-life Superwoman most days. 9-hour workdays, throwing it down in the kitchen, keeping up with my book clubs, maintaining a social life, and, of course, writing for our amazing blog are just a few of my everyday responsibilities. Finding time to work out with my busy schedule usually just leads to skipping the gym altogether.

DailyBurn’s affordable monthly fee is perfect for my hectic lifestyle. I’m psyched to start getting killer sessions in at home. That way, I can prep dinner and burn calories as it cooks—with the added plus of taking in the wonderful aroma from the oven to my mat! Multi-tasking at its best!

DailyBurn is super easy to use and can be streamed to any device: Chromecast, Roku, AppleTV, you name it! I’m pretty confident I’ll be able to commit to this routine without any excuses. I’m also super pumped because I was able to sign up for the 30-day free trial.

We all know that working out and eating well go hand-in-hand if you’re looking to see results. That being said, I’m not a big believer in diets or a prescribed meal plan. I don’t do well with too much structure, so I won’t be following the suggested meals provided by DailyBurn…to a T, at least. Instead, I’ll use them as a guideline, making necessary revisions to fit my life and tastes.
